With the alternating intervals between the phases of oxygen-depleted and oxygen-rich air, IHHT initiates similar effects to altitude training by utilizing the natural adaptability of our body and metabolism.

IHHT is usually carried out lying down. It does not matter whether you are sitting on your sofa, bed or reclining chair. Using your own mask, you then breathe in oxygen-poor or oxygen-rich air at alternating intervals for between 40 and 60 minutes. The training is recorded for the entire duration and your oxygen saturation and heart rate are monitored using a pulse oximeter.
